Modern Appalachian Kitchen is where Appalachian tradition meets modern creativity — a place where recipes, memories, and craftsmanship come together to create something truly special.

Founded in Morgantown, West Virginia, by Stephanie and her husband,Jordan, our kitchen was born from a love of the flavors and stories that shaped our upbringing.
Stephanie’s earliest inspiration came from time spent in her grandmothers’ kitchens — where love was measured in handfuls of flour, laughter, and the shared joy of making something from scratch. Those cherished moments became the heart of Modern Appalachian Kitchen.

That early inspiration led Stephanie (alongside Jordan) to realize that Morgantown was missing something special: a candy-shop-style kitchen rooted in Appalachian flavor and community spirit. Modern Appalachian Kitchen was born from this vision — a place where love, family recipes and quality are shared through handcrafted sweets, treats and local delights. 

Today, we honor those traditions while adding our own modern touch — crafting small-batch sweets, marshmallows, confections, and seasonal treats that capture the warmth and wonder of home.

 Every product we make is prepared with care, using quality ingredients and a deep appreciation for the Appalachian foodways that inspire us.
